I'm having a difficult time learning about generals rank and branch insignia. Did generals have branch insignia or did they just wear what they wanted. also did all generals wear the same three star collar rank. I have been involved in reenacting and as a sutler I really should know the answer to these questions so maybe I can stop being ignorant. Del del@reenactmentshop.com

Is there a need for good clothing sutlers? The reason I asked is that I am thinking about transtioning from a 18th century miltary tailor to civil war. Why? Not many are willing to pay for custom 85% hand stitch men's military and civilian clothing. I've been told that I am one of the best in the 18th century reenactment. But my back is not holding up with long hours hand stitching. Check out www.baldwinclothing.com and send me your comments to baldwinrichard@juno.com

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Please, if you have any civil war topics to discuss, this the forum to do it. Sharing ideas helps us all learn something about re-enacting and history of the war. Feel free to talk about anything related to history or re-enacting. Have a great and safe holiday season.
