MAY 19-21 – New York – 7th Annual Fire on the
Genesee
Letchworth State Park, Mt. Morris. This
year’s Civil War encampment will be at the north end of the
park. This gives us a bigger battlefield and more camp space for
infantry, artillery, civilians and mounted cavalry. This year we
are adding a very special part to our event. On Friday, May 19
we have invited local schools for an education day. We would
love to have you come and help us teach our youth about the
Civil War as only you can do. You are welcome to come in on
Thursday night and enjoy a long weekend. Wood, straw and hay
will be provided, plus hot showers and flush toilets. Battles
Saturday and Sunday. Other activities include a ladies tea,
first-person impersonations, and a court martial. Reenactors
Community Dinner and Dance Saturday night with City Fiddle.
Church service Sunday morning. Both authentic and modern camps.
Your ideas and scenarios are welcome. We pay a bounty for
artillery which takes the field. Pre-registration fee: $5 for
reenactors by May 2 or $8 at the registration table. Proceeds
benefit the Civil War Parade Ground and Museum at Letchworth
State Park. For more information, contact Tim and Diana Bucknam
